yeah, it is pretty amazing. I got the idea from using my main blog to build the authority for the TBC. I figured if I did it here than why not with my other niche sites. Although I didn't use the 301 redirects until recently. I have am also playing around with creating pages that promote travel products or ads on my main blog but which do not show up in the main navigation or blog list on the homepage. This way I don't annoy my regular readers but I can use my blog's authority to rank higher for a specific search topic.

I have not written about it yet here as I want to test it more. But with the new custom page template on WordPress 3.1 we can do some really powerful things now.

More and More I would like the article section here to feature experiments in travel blogging to see what does and does not work. I'm always happy to put these types of posts up.

I am glad to see someone else here is using this strategy. I was pretty shocked the first time I tried it.

This really applies to people with niche sites and with the Niche Battle going on I thought I would share this here.

Basically it shows you how to use your primary website's power to drive traffic to any other site you like without causing any damage to your brand. In fact you could be selling Viagra on one site and use your well established travel blog to drive traffic to it without anyone knowing.

 

If you ARE selling viagra PLEASE STOP EMAILING ME.. I am starting to get a complex.
